CRISP – Capital Region Invasive Species Partnership

Efficient and effective invasive species management: increasing regional collaboration, information sharing, planning and programs.

Invasive species pose threats to our economy, environment and humans, including health.

As a resident of the Capital Region, here’s how you can help in the important work preventing invasive spread and reducing the impacts of invaders:

  • Please report priority species
  • Do not purchase and/or plant invasive plants on your property. Learn to be PlantWise
  • Remove invasive plants from your property
  • Don’t let invasives go to seed on your property
  • Dispose of yard waste and invasive plants at the appropriate facilities (Hartland Landfill or your local government garden waste drop off)
  • Clean footwear, tools and equipment before leaving an area infested with invasive plants.  Find out about the Play Clean Go program
  • Spread the word not the weed (or animal)
  • Volunteer your time to control invasive plants in our region
